In my industry this time of year can be frightful to the self employed contractor. With folks having to tighten their belts and construction ground to a halt, we worry and fret about producing business from a seemingly dry well of opportunity. Well I believe 2011 will be a good year and although those "EASY Years" opportunists who grazed heavily at the "fat years" trough are gone now. Those who remain are the true professionals that hold this industry of creating and designing as a passion will survive. We are a tough lot who flex and bend with changing financial times. I have faith that we will come out of this recession in a prosperous way and can hold our heads high with pride that we rode another tough time out. Good business sense and the memory of these times will always remain and help steer us to be even better financial stewards of those ever increasing, elusive, and hard earned dollars that we will make. I have had to re-think how business is done and I know with all the industry gurus input, LDL will survive and thrive. If those reading this have ideas or leads that can help, please feel free to share. Happy New Year!!! |
